Corre el año 1956, y los asuntos amorosos no se le dan precisamente bien al tímido y joven Jonathan Bellah. Su nuevo amigo Gene quizá pueda ayudarle. Gene es un rebelde adorado por las chicas, y puede que si éste le diera algunas clases a de cómo ligar con ellas, Jonathan pudiera conquistar a las chicas. Pero habrá cosas que tendrá que aprender por sí mismo si quiere sobrevivir a la adolescencia.
